Claire here. I write from Portland, OR, where I’ve relocated from the midwest. So I am still fascinated as if I were a tourist, even after several years. Sometimes what I’ve recently seen makes it to my blog. And when I visit my grandson, he makes an appearance. Other family members make cameo appearances.
I thoroughly enjoy many things: quilting, knitting, reading, traveling, attending plays and concerts. And I seem to do them in spurts. I am on a quilting spurt at the moment of creating the blog–no doubt there will be changes in focus.
I wanted a place to share my thoughts about design, mostly in quilting. And my observations on other things. I have been quilting since the seventies and knitting since the nineties. And observing much longer.

We love you snow! My daughter and I are wishing we knew how to do that.
I also do things in spurts so it’s nice to meet a kindred spirit! I have been knitting on and off since the seventies and quilting for just three years! I haven’t used a pattern for any quilt yet — oops, sorry, I did copy block instructions to make my second quilt when the first wasn’t as successful as I would have liked! Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment.
Hi! I know that some people don’t like putting their email addresses on their blog sites, but is it something that you would consider? (Or did I just miss it?) I’ve had some lovely comments from you lately but no way to respond directly.
A nice and friendly blog. I like the colour scheme and I have looked through some of your beautiful quilts. I also like the process pledge. It is a thought one can apply to so many things. Wish you lot’s of success!
What a wonderful orange header, with strong graphical patterns. Orange is often considered as representing creativity… interesting!
